
Warm Congratulations to the Renowned Tenor and Poet Professor Jia Bing on Receiving Five Major Poetry Awards in China in 2024" — A Grand Celebration Held in Los Angeles
At 6:30 PM on July 8, 2025, a grand and heartwarming celebration banquet was held at the 888 Seafood Restaurant in Los Angeles, USA, under the theme: “Warm Congratulations to the Renowned Chinese-American Tenor and Poet Professor Jia Bing on Winning Five Major Chinese Poetry Awards in 2024.”
Professor Jia Bing is an outstanding tenor and a well-known poet. During the 1980s and 1990s, he worked at the Sichuan Song and Dance Theater, was selected into the State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office's Art Troupe, and served as the chief program host and tenor soloist. He has deep stage experience and remarkable artistic achievement. After living in the United States for more than 20 years, he has remained a low-key and humble figure.
He is a member of the China Musicians Association, Honorary President of the Chinese American Musicians Association, Honorary President of the North American Federation of Literature and Art, Honorary Chairman of the World Poetry Media Association, resident poet at China Poetry Network, Lifetime Advisor to the Hong Kong Poets Journal, and Artistic Director of the Chinese Aesthetic Poetry Alliance.

Over decades of artistic career, in addition to his outstanding stage performances, he has worked diligently offstage, producing a large volume of widely acclaimed poetry, essays, aphorisms, and poetry collections. His dedication has paid off — in 2024, he received five of China's top poetry awards:

3. Highest Achievement Award, First Du Fu Cup Poetry Competition

Additionally, his poem “Flattery” was selected for inclusion in poetry recitation textbooks for Chinese primary and secondary schools.

About the Celebration
The celebration was attended by nearly 200 distinguished guests from the Chinese-American community, led by Mr. Zhang Yong, President of the Federation of Chinese American Associations, and Ms. Chen Huibi, Chairwoman of the Chinese American Entrepreneurs Alliance. U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu attended in person to congratulate Professor Jia and presented a Congressional Recognition Certificate. Former California Assemblyman Mike Eng and current California Assemblyman Mike Fong also awarded Jia Bing certificates of honor in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the field of poetry.
