The Law of Nature
By Xu Chunbo
In spite of distinct steps, the novelty will necessarily
pop out on the way
The major part of one’s life
is taken up by imploring and seeking way out
The chanting rises in a limited visual field
and the regular paean goes to the high priest
The trembling throne hangs by a thread
The thick coils of mere reputation will lead to naught
The utmost emptiness will be torn apart gradually
and the gap of time is cram-full of impalpable darkness
Summer is becoming poky after ebbing
but the end is still lingering at the corner
People freely disperse, surporting each other
The era has neither begun nor ended
