Happy New Year's Day

The sky is blue

And sunshine golden

The grass longs for rain

The yellow color reflecting sunlight

New Year's Day in the southern hemisphere

As so hot

On the first day of 2020

I enjoy  the landscape  from Cherry Hill

Cherries are all over the branches

The red color evoking sweet longing

The trees lining up to welcome guests

With green leaves offering shade

Today is so peaceful

Men and women, old and young, rejoicing

And wishing the New Year's good luck

With the poetic dream to find the distance

Mowing Lawn in Autumn

As autumn wind howling

Rain is falling

Days of wind and rain

Have made the front lawn

Dressed as wearing a green robe

Grass dancing gracefully with wind

The sun is to smile at last

And to kiss the earth

Birds twittering in flocks

Autumn chrysanthemum enchanting in color

Deciduous branches

Also shaking and twisting with wind

White clouds are floating in the air

I get up early on weekends

The lawn mower rumbles

To enjoy the sun and tidy up the lawn

A good idea is to kill two birds with one stone

Fragrant grass swirling around wind

Mother Knitted a Red Sweater

Morning sunshine in the East

Has covered the earth

Taking the advantage of leisure

I tidy up my wardrobe

This one needs basking

That one needs washing

Holding up the sun

The clothes breathes fresh air excitedly

Some clothes are nice

But has not had the day to pick up

What can be taken or not taken

It should go to those who need it more

Only this soft red sweater

I couldn't help weeping at the sight of it

That year I went to the provincial capital to study

Mother knitted the sweater overnight

With the red sweater in company

I feel warm while reading all night long

To take the sweater with me

Mother's words to be kept in my heart

To wear the sweater

I have the courage across ocean

Now my mother is in heaven

But this red sweater

Still as wrapped around my body

The warmth of the red sweater

Forever as branded in my bones
